A new survey polling human resources professionals across the UAE has indicated signs of improvement within the country’s job market, reports Emirates Business 24-7. However, most wages are flat or down, says the report.
Finance, sales and marketing are the most positive sectors, according to the survey by networking group Pink Slip Dubai and market researchers Insight Discovery. It polled 92 headhunters, recruiters and human resource professionals. Not surprisingly, the sectors that have seen the biggest downturn are construction and real estate.
Eighty percent of those polled said they had seen an employment market increase of between 5 and 20 percent so far in 2010 when compared to 2009.
But half of those surveyed said salaries were the same as in 2009, while 36 percent said they had actually observed a general decrease in salaries.
