Du launches unlimited video-on-demand

AED 75 a month deal for users of ‘on-demand’ service.

Telecoms operator Du has unveiled a new deal whereby subscribers can get unlimited movies via its on-demand service.

The new deal is the latest move by Du as it increases pressure to gain access to competitor Etisalat’s national network and create an era of genuine telecoms competitiveness in the UAE. At present Etisalat and Du are the only telecoms operators in the country, but users rarely get a choice between fixed line operators – Etisalat covers most of the UAE, while Du provides services to a number of areas of Dubai.

The new deal will cover the whole of Du’s Video on Demand service, which includes movies, TV series, documentaries, spiritual features, kids programming and music. The Video on Demand service is available to all Du TV and Du TV+ customers, and to generate interest in the offer Du says the service will be provided free for all customers for an introductory period. After that, users can subscribe to the service for AED 75 per month.

“At Du we work hard to provide our customers with the most user-friendly entertainment solutions. TV customers globally like to choose what and when they watch. We are very excited to announce the launch of our Unlimited Video on Demand service with premium TV programs, giving customers to choose to watch what they want, all with a simple click on the remote control from the comfort of their home,” said Farid Faraidooni, Chief Commercial Officer, Du.
