Mosa Isa Mosa Al Amiri, UAE national, sued UAE telecoms company Etisalat for allegedly using his invention to offer customers a mobile TV service that allows for the capture of satellite TV programming on cell phones, Emirates Business reported Tuesday.
The Abu Dhabi First Instance Court ordered the telco to pay Amiri AED 30 million in the patent protection suit, in which Etisalat maintained that the mobile TV system was purchased from a Chinese company, Huawei.
A patent expert panel was assigned by the court to investigate Amiri’s claims. Their findings confirmed the charges of patent violation, Emirates Business added.
