The euro hit a 14-month low against the US dollar yesterday, amid increasing concern over fiscal deficits of European nations and extreme civil unrest over Greek austerity measures, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
The euro fell to a low of $1.2510, with analysts noting that the currency has not closed lower than $1.26 since March 2009, the Wall Street Journal said.
Some analysts have predicted that the euro could fall to parity with the US dollar by the first quarter of 2011.
