First claim against Nakheel

Nakheel faces a claim of $2.72 mn in connection with roadside billboards, the National reported Wednesday.

Trinet Outdoor Advertising company has filed a claim against the developer, contending that Nakheel owes Trinet unsettled accounts for six advertising billboards along Al Khail Road in Dubai. The claim, which will be reviewed by the tribunal, is expected to be a test case for other contractors and service companies who have unsettled accounts with Nakheel, observers say.

Trinet’s managing director said he filed the case because he is “under pressure” to settle claims with the Roads and Transport Authority for the leasing space contracted for the billboards.
