GM issues worldwide recall of Hummer H3, citing defective bonnet catch

Most of the UAE’s 3,500 Hummer H3s are included in the recall.

General Motors announced Wednesday it would recall all Hummer H3’s produced since the 2006 model year, citing concerns over a faulty bonnet catch, the AP reported.

There are an estimated 3,500 affected Hummers in the UAE, according to local media.

GM expressed concerns that the defective catch, known as a louvre, could become loose and break off while driving, acting as a projectile to strike another vehicle, the report said.

More than 198,000 cars worldwide are included in the recall , which affects 2006 to 2010 models of the H3 and 2009 to 2010 models of the H3T.
