After months of deadlock, US envoy Mitchell concluded a first round of talks and confirmed Mitchell will return to region next week to continue.

After months of stalled peace negotiations, US special envoy George Mitchel has concluded a first round of indirect peace  talks, with the White House confirming Mitchell’s return to the region next week to continue negotiations, the BBC reported Monday.

Palestinians withdrew from direct peace talks in 2008, as Israel launched military operations in Gaza. Indirect talks have been obstructed by the issue of Israeli home construction in East Jerusalem.

    A small correction
The Gaza operation was launched after months of bombardment from Gaza. No nation will tolerate being attacked.
