iPhone 4 available in UAE in July

The product will debut in the UAE one month after its official launch in the US.

The new Apple iPhone 4, is expected to be available in the UAE around July 24th, say retailers, one month after its official launch date of June 24th in the US, the UK, France Germany and Japan, Emirates Business reported Wednesday.

The new iPhone features a thinner profile and more than 100 new features. It will retail at launch for $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB, the report said.

Improved features of the new model include HD video shoot and edit capabilities called ‘Face Time’, video chat, a five-mega pixel camera, and significantly improved resolution. The battery will reportedly offer 40 percent more talk time.

At Monday’s unveiling of the new iPhone 4 CEO Steve Jobs called it “the most precise, beautiful thing we’ve ever designed.” But the demonstration was plagued by a prolonged series of technical difficulties. The frustrated Jobs blamed the disastrous unveiling on ‘slow networks’ and Wi-Fi congestion.
