Apple has announced that the iPhone will be on sale in authorized outlets in 88 countries by September, reports Gulf News.
But, as yet, “it’s anyones guess whether one of those countries will be the UAE,” says the report.
Apple has confirmed that the new unit will be available in the US, UK, France, Germany and Japan starting on June 24. Then, by the end of July, official iPhone 4s will be available in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
At present Etisalat and Du, the UAE’s two telecoms operators, do not know when they will be able to offer the iPhone 4. “We don’t have any information about it. We haven’t talked to Apple yet about it, they have just released it,” an Etisalat spokesperson told Gulf News.
A du spokesperson said it is too soon to provide details.
