A new Jobs Index study finds that 56 percent of regional employers say they will recruit new staff within the coming quarter, Lebanon’s Daily Star reported Tuesday. Thirty percent of respondents in Lebanon say their organization will definitely be recruiting new staff, while respondents in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Oman came in at 36 percent, 35 percent and 32 percent respectively.
Only 15 percent in Tunisia and 17 percent in Jordan said they will definitely be hiring new staff next quarter. Surprisingly, only 19 percent of Qatar’s respondents said they would definitely be recruiting next quarter.
Business management graduates are most in demand, according to the survey, followed by graduates in commerce, computer science, and engineering. Bilingual candidates in English and Arabic are particularly valued by employers.
The survey was conducted by Bayt.com and research specialists YouGov Siraj.
