Nakheel: no air con cut-off
Air conditioning will not be cut-off, says property company.

Dubai World’s construction arm, Nakheel, has resolved a dispute with one of its suppliers which threatened to cut air conditioning off to one of its projects.
Occupants of Discovery Gardens, a development comprising more than 100 apartment blocks, had been informed that Palm Utilities would cut off chilled water supplies, reports Bloomberg. The move, due to take place on June 15, would have stalled air conditioning units in the build up to summer in Dubai.
“Due to the building owner’s continuing failure to enter into a legally binding contract with us, we have served on the building owner a ‘Notice of Disconnection’ of chilled water supply,” Palm Utilities unit Palm District Cooling had said in posters put up in one Discovery Gardens building.
“An error has been rectified,” a spokesperson for Nakheel said by e-mail today. “No utilities will be cut off.”
