National Bank of Kuwait Q3 net profit up 5.7 pct

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), the country’s largest bank, posted a 5.7 percent rise in third-quarter net profit on Tuesday.
Net income came in at 79.8 million dinars ($282.3 million) in the quarter, according to Reuters calculations. That compared with profit of 75.5 million dinars in the prior-year period.
The lender did not provide quarterly figures, which Reuters calculated based on previous financial data.
In a statement, NBK said net profit in the nine months to Sept. 30 came in at 225 million dinars.
