Palestinian Authority plans third mobile license in 2013
Success of project depends on Israel opening up frequencies.

The Palestinian Authority plans to issue a third mobile phone licence in 2013, Reuters reported today.
The Palestinian telecoms Minister Mashour Abu Daqqa said the market could accommodate a third network, adding that bidding will open in 2012. He said that a third network would enhance quality and lower prices, and would help reduce the use of Israeli telecoms networks in some of the occupied territories.
However, one potential stumbling block is that the project’s success depends on Israel opening up mobile frequencies for Palestinian use.
