Saudi-based PetroRabigh said on Monday it had resumed production at one of its polyethylene units after a fire shut it down two days earlier.
PetroRabigh, a joint-venture between Saudi Aramco and Japan’s Sumitomo Chemical did not say what the capacity of the plant was in a statement on the Saudi bourse website.
The company has three polyethylene units at its giant petrochemical complex in Rabigh, on the Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia.
The unit, “Polyethylene 1″ was shut down on Saturday due to a minor fire at one of the compressors but production started again on Sunday, PetroRabigh said.
