Rescue teams have recovered Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s body from the site of a glider crash in Morocco.
Sheikh Ahmed, a younger brother of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler of Abu Dhabi and UAE president, was involved in a crash last Friday.
Funeral prayers will be offered at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque after Asr prayers in Abu Dhabi after the arrival of Sheikh Ahmed’s body.
The Ministry of Presidential Affairs announced a three-day mourning period starting from Wednesday, during which flags will fly half mast.
Sheikh Ahmed was managing director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).

May God grant his family and beloved ones the patience and tolerence to bear his loss.
He will always be remembered for his achievements and good deeds.
Sad news indeed. He was taken from this world at a young age and that never seems fair. Vale Sheikh Ahmed. You were one of the good guys who had the interests of the UAE at heart and did plenty of unseen charity work without expecting any personal glory for it. Rest in peace.
May God help his soul.
It is a sad and irreparable loss for the people of the UAE besides his family members. One of the gems of HH. Nahyan’s family has been snatched away at such a young age. We pray Almighty to rest his Soul in eternal peace.
Why in the bad weather and bad terrain, such trips are taken above a lake in a far off land, that too in a glider? Very Sad.
