Weber Shandwick has appointed Jim Donaldson to Executive Vice-President Corporate Communications, EMEA.
Donaldson’s focus will be on developing business for Weber Shandwick in EMEA and the wider agency network, from the growing emerging market operations in the Middle East, Russia, Africa, Central & Eastern Europe and the agency’s wider global network.
Donaldson spent close to six years in Dubai running Hill & Knowlton’s Middle East operations before moving back to Europe in 2005. During his tenure, the business grew dramatically with new offices opening in Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt and Riyadh and employee numbers more than doubling, laying the foundations for the current H&K set up in the region.
Donaldson has continued to keep strong links with the Middle East over the last few years, leading global communications campaigns for both government and corporate clients from Dubai, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Weber Shandwick’s UK & European CEO, Colin Byrne comments: “Jim is one of our leading corporate PR specialists in EMEA, with great agency experience. He will be a terrific senior addition to our top team both in EMEA. I’m delighted to announce his appointment and I am looking forward to working with him.”
Donaldson will further be responsible for building and complementing the firm’s existing London and local market skill set regionally across EMEA. He will be a member of both Weber Shandwick’s UK and EMEA management teams.
