Iraq Tenders For 30,000 Tonnes Rice
Iraq issued a tender for 30,000 tonnes of rice from any origin, a source at the trade ministry said on Sunday.

The tender closes on August 12 and offers must be valid through August 16, the source said.
Iraq is one of the world’s largest importers of rice, much of which goes to supply a massive national food rationing programme.
In its previous tender, reported on July 16, Iraq bought 110,000 tonnes of rice from Thailand and Uruguay. (Reporting by Ahmed Rasheed; Editing by Barry Malone/Catherine Evans)
