Through his companies, Al Ghurair has widely contributed to several charitable bodies, and in 2007, he announced an AED22 million contribution to the Dubai Cares campaign.
In a meeting with Sheikh Mayed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the son of Dubai’s ruler and prime minister of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Al Ghurair, praised the campaign. “Dubai Cares is an exceptional initiative. The special attention to the campaign given by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum […], his sons and daughters, has been a strong driving force for every one in Dubai to support this philanthropic cause.”
Dubai Cares was launched by Sheikh Mohammed in September 2007 to raise funds to provide primary education to underprivileged children across the world.
