The new F1 circuit at Abu Dhabi has passed the final inspection by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) ahead of its grand prix debut on November 1, reports the Press Association. The track was given the green light by FIA race director Charlie Whiting.
“Everything is going well,” said Richard Cregan, the CEO of Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management, which is organizing the event. “We’ve had a couple of handovers and that’s the process we’re in at the moment — as I call it, a ‘shakedown’ of the circuit.
“It’s such a complex facility, so many buildings, so many elements to it in terms of how technical the circuit is, so we’re going through it step by step,” he said.

With all the hype surrounding the impending F1 GP, I find it amazing that the local satellite stations have not advertised live feeds from the race and practice sessions. With the amalgamation of Showtime and orbit they should be able to broadcast live from the local venue?
