Abu Dhabi’s Masdar to sign Egypt wind farm deal
North African country aims to obtain 20 percent of energy from renewable sources by 2020.

Egypt is set to sign a deal with Abu Dhabi’s Masdar to build a 200 megawatt wind farm, as part of a plan to generate 20 percent of the country’s energy needs from renewable sources by 2020, according to a report by Reuters.
The deal is expected to be signed on Thursday, according to Aktham Aboul Ela, a senior official at the Electricity and Energy Ministry.
The new plant, the construction cost of which was not reported, will be located near Suez on Egypt’s east coast.
