Algeria seeks advisers on Orascom Telecom purchase

Algeria’s Finance Ministry on Monday launched an international tender for investment banks and consultancies to advise it on the acquisition of Orascom Telecom’s Algerian unit.
The tender was published in the Algerian government’s official newspaper, with the deadline for bids set at Nov. 24.
Vimpelcom has agreed to buy Orascom Telecom’s assets, but analysts say uncertainty over the Algerian unit could scupper the deal.
