Bahrain will ban all imports of ozone depleting substances from January next year, Adel Al Zayani, the director general of Bahrain’s Public Commission for the Protection of Marine Resources, Environment and Wildlife has said.
All products containing such substances including automobile and truck air-conditioning units, refrigerators, freezers, water coolers, ice machines, air-conditioning and heat pump units, will be returned to their country of origin, he said.
The customs authorities have trained their officers on how to determine these substances and products, he added.
