The world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, has closed to the public due to power supply issues.

‘Maintenance and upgrade’ of the building forced the closure of the observation deck on the 124th floor for an indefinite period.

Technical issues with the power supply were cited as the reason behind the closure, according to press reports.

“Guests who hold valid tickets… will be offered the option to re-book or receive an immediate refund.  All ticket holders who wish to re-book shall be given top priority. We maintain and remain committed to the highest quality standards at Burj Khalifa,” a Burj Khalifa spokesperson told Gulf News.

‘Maintenance and upgrade’ of the building – it’s only been open a month! It’s the equivalent of buying an exclusive Rolls Royce with all the luxury trimmings and having to return it the following day because someone’s put in 2 AAA batteries instead of a whopping great 12V.

    Unbelievably embarrassing!
