Chris O’Donnell
Connections are spread across the world – the real world, that is – for the CEO of government-owned real estate developer Nakheel, the company responsible for Dubai’s artificial island chains, the Palm and the World.

As chairman of Nakheel, he is O’Donnell’s boss. One of the leading businessmen in the region, he is said to be the right-hand man – one of them, anyway – of Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Sulayem heads Dubai World, which has a portfolio of around 70 companies, and established real estate developer Nakheel and Istithmar, an investment house focusing on private equity and real estate.
A member of the World Economic Forum, Sulayem was chairman of Jebel Ali Free Zone from its inception in 1985 and heads the Dubai Ports Authority. A board member of the Executive Council of the Dubai government and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, he is also chairman of Tejari.com, an on-line B2B marketplace.
