As head of the security sector under the UAE’s interior ministry’s strategic plan, Tamim also works closely with the country’s Interior Minister Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed al-Nahyan. Under the latter’s instructions, Tamim this week chaired a meeting of the Safety, Security and Justice Committee to review the Comprehensive Strategic Development Project of the Interior Ministry from 2010-2015.
Sheikh Saif, who was appointed to his post in October 2004, has served extensively in Abu Dhabi’s police force in the past. He also served as the director general of the Abu Dhabi Police. He first became the Under Secretary of the Ministry of Interior in 1997, and retained the post until his appointment as Minister of Interior.
