Du’s revenue up 35 percent in 2009
The telecom operator announced that its net profits reached AED528 million in 2009.

UAE’s telecom operator Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (Du) announced that its net profits reached AED528 million in 2009, as compared to AED8 million in 2008. It made revenues of AED5.3 billion in 2009, an increase of 35 percent from the previous year, and EBITDA (Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) reached AED1.06 billion, a rise of 189 percent from AED369 million in 2008, the company said.
During Q4 2009, Du made AED1.5 billion, the highest ever recorded in a quarter, it added.
The operator also said that its active mobile customers increased by 41 percent in 2009, and that it saw a 45 percent increase in its fixed line subscribers during the year.
