Dubai Duty Free announced that it recorded annual sales of AED4.1 billion in 2009, a 3.76 percent increase over the previous year. The airport retail unit saw an average of 55,800 sales transactions per day during the year, it said. The sales in December 2009 touched AED441 million, an increase of 9 percent the same period in 2008.
Category-wise, perfumes topped the list with sales reaching AED567 million, representing 14 percent of the total sales at Dubai Duty Free. It was followed by liquor and gold.
