Hotels and hotel apartments in Dubai received 3.85 million guests in the first half of 2009, a 5 percent increase compared to the same period in 2008, according to the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM). Five-star beach hotels in the city saw an average occupancy of 90 percent in the first week of August 2009, says DTCM.
Currently, Dubai has a total of 58147 hotel rooms and flats, 17 percent more than the first half of last year.
