More than 1,740,500 people have travelled by the Dubai Metro during its first month of operation, according to the RTA Rail Agency. Out of the 10 stations on the Red Line which are currently open, the Mall of the Emirates Station topped the list in terms of passenger numbers, carrying more than 322,700 commuters.
“Metro commuters are advised to be patient and not hurry to board the metro,” said Aysha Al Busmait, director of RTA Customer Service Centers Department in a press release. “They are also recommended to go over the tips and guidance prepared by Rail Agency specialists for the safety of all passengers. Commuters need not pack in front of the train doors as it is a direct and key reason for delaying the alighting and boarding process,” she added.
