The Egyptian government has instructed its post to ban all letters and packages sporting an Iranian stamp bearing a picture of Marwa al-Sherbini, reports Al Arabiya. Al-Sherbini was dubbed the “veil martyr” after she was murdered last year in Germany. Media reports claim she was a victim of racism.
The Iranian government issued the stamp as homage to al-Sherbini.
The Iranian media has described Egypt’s reaction to the stamp as “cold” and “unexpected.”
Egyptian authorities, however, have not commented on the ban.
