Emirates plots $5 billion Boeing deal
Announcement expected at Farnborough Air Show.

As the Farnborough air show gets underway in the UK on Monday, it is widely reported that Emirates would be announcing a huge new deal with Boeing at the event.
Gulf News says that Dubai’s airline is set to place a $5 billion order with the airplane manufacturer for 20 Boeing 777 wide-body jets, according to aviation sources. Emirates is expected to hold a news conference tomorrow to announce the deal.
Boeing has declined to comment, says the paper. It says that the latest model 777s can carry 365 people, and a purchase of 20 would be $5.4 billion at list price.
The move would come a month after Emirates ordered 32 Airbus A380s.
