The head of Dubai-based property developer Emaar Properties, Alabbar sits on the board of Noor Islamic Bank. Interestingly, al-Qemzi himself sits on the board of Emaar Properties.
Responsible for building the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, Alabbar is one of the most prominent business leaders in the UAE. He has been heading Emaar Properties since the company’s inception in 1997 and also has a vast portfolio; he is director general of the Department of Economic Development, a member of the Dubai Executive Council and chairman of the Bahrain-based Al Salam Bank.
