The CEO of Dubai-based Noor Islamic Bank is closely linked with the emirate’s most powerful people.

The chairman of Noor Islamic Bank, Sheikh Ahmed is al-Qemzi’s boss. The president of the department of Civil Aviation, Sheikh Ahmed is also the CEO and chairman of the Emirates Group.
He has headed the civil aviation department since 1985 and oversees the activities of the Dubai International Airport, Dubai Cargo Village, Dubai Duty Free, and Dubai Aviation Club. He has been the chairman of Emirates since its launch in the same year.
The uncle of Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, Sheikh Ahmed portfolio is extensive. He is a board member of the Dubai Council for Economic Affairs, the Dubai Corporation for Government Investment, and the General Civil Aviation Authority of UAE, the vice-chairman of the Dubai World Trade Centre, and the chairman of the committee for the Dubai Shopping Festival, among other roles.
