As CEO of ADAC, he reports directly to Al Mazrouei. Vercelli was appointed to the post in March this year, and is the company’s first CEO.

Vercelli was the COO at Mumbai International Airport from 2006 till 2008, before which he was working as vice president, Aviation for German engineering and construction company, Bechtel. There he helped drive the construction of the new $2.5 billion Doha International Airport.

Just last week, the Abu Dhabi international airport registered an increase of 32.8 percent passenger growth for October and the first 10 months of the year, as compared to the same period in 2007.

“While we recognize that such high growth rates are not sustainable indefinitely and if we factor in the considerations surrounding an overall worldwide slowdown in traffic we must be pleased with the sustained growth we are seeing,” Vercelli said at the time.
