Crude oil exports from Kuwait to China fell by 35.8 percent in August to 122,000 barrels per day (bpd) compared to the same period in 2008, reported the nation’s government news agency KUNA on Monday, citing official data released by the Chinese government.
Kuwait supplied China with only 2.9 percent of its total crude oil imports, compared with 5.1 percent in August 2008. In July this year, the Gulf nation’s crude oil made up 3.1 percent of China’s total crude oil imports.
China is the world’s second-largest oil consumer after the United States.
