Two members of parliament in Kuwait have called on Helal al-Sayer, the Minister of Health, to step down over claims he failed to curb the spread of the H1N1 virus (swine flu) in Kuwait, reports Kuwait Times. Saadoun Hammad and Mubarak Al-Waalan accused the minister of mishandling the nation’s efforts to contain the virus. The report does not elaborate on their accusations.
According to the daily, there are over 1,072 confirmed cases and two fatalities from swine flu in Kuwait.
