Israeli officials prevented an official Kuwaiti delegation from taking part in a cultural festival in the West Bank, Kuwait’s National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature said in a statement. The council said that that the delegation was denied entry from Jordan to participate in the closing ceremony of “Jerusalem: Arab Culture Capital 2009,” an event being held at Nablus, a city in West Bank.

Last year, the Arab League chose Jerusalem as the capital of Arab culture for 2009.
