Former football champion Deigo Maradona may abandon his role as Argentina’s manager to work with Portsmouth as a “global ambassador,” reports Arabian Business.
The Dubai-based publication claims it accessed emails where Maradona’s lawyer, Angel Oscar Moyano, says that the former football player is keen on joining the UK football team.
According to the report, Maradona is ready to offer “his mediation for signing players of top level [sic] who with the support of Diego Armando Maradona, will be ready to come to Portsmouth FC.”
He adds that “he´s got all top players ready and even he´s [sic] ready to leave Argentine National team.”
Sources close to the Al Fahim camp say they are aware of the correspondence, but did not want to comment further.
