For millions of Apple fans around the world, today is the day.
The company is expected to announce details of its ‘tablet’ device, and (whether it’s called an iTablet, iSlate, iTouch, MacBook Touch, iPad or Canvas) there is a lot riding on it.
The Apple tablet is expected to have a 10in touchscreen, and internet connectivity over Wi-Fi and 3G. It is likely to resemble a large iPhone, but with some extra bells and whistles to wow consumers. It won’t have a keyboard, but is likely to play movies and music, and work as an eBook reader.
That is, if Apple does have a tablet to announce. For the details about the new device are still top secret.
What we do know is that there will be an announcement – about something, at least – issued at 10pm UAE time by the firm’s PR company, Hill & Knowlton. Kipp will be there to share the details.
