Eldon is chairman of the DIFC Authority, and works closely with Al Saidi on economic issues facing the region and its financial markets.

Eldon is also chairman of the Noble Group Limited and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB). In 2005 he was made a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) for his contribution to banking, and was awarded the Asian Banker Lifetime Achievement Award that same year.
