New buildings in Abu Dhabi will not be given permission to go ahead unless they have adequate parking facilities for tenants and visitors, according to a new law issued by the emirate. “Landlords of existing building before or after this law is issued are [also] demanded to secure spaces for tenants according to the executive regulations of the law,” the UAE’s official news agency WAM quoted the law as saying.

The law also states that no one will be allowed to manage public or private parking without approval from the Department of Transport. Those found violating the law will be fined AED50,000.
