Oman has put aside OR937 million ($2.4 billion) in 2010 to create jobs for locals, said National Economy Minister Ahmad Mekki, reports Reuters. “The OR937 million will be spent on projects that will create 4,000 jobs for nationals in the labour market this year,” he said. The projects include water desalination plants, schools, roads and hospitals, he added.
Around 5,000 Omani nationals hunt for jobs every year, according to Reuters.
