Paris Hilton posed for a bikini shoot in Dubai in spite of a ban by her show’s production company, revealed UK-based newspaper The Mirror.

“Paris had made a big public speech, saying how much she loved the Middle East and respected its culture,” a source told the daily. “But the following day she was prancing around on the beach in her bikini and posing provocatively.”

“Bosses warned her Western tourists have been jailed for flouting the rules.”

Hilton is in the emirate filming the Dubai version of her reality TV show Paris Hilton’s My New BFF (Best Friend Forever).

It’s been more than a week of Paris in the media – can the media please move on to other pressing matters?

  2. Rick on June 22, 2009 7:58 pm

Any FEMALE is allowed to wear bikinis in Dubai, as long as its on the beach. and not in inappropriate public places.

  3. Judy on June 23, 2009 5:24 am

Chuck her out! Just because she’s rich doesn’t mean she should get away with it. And quite right, Thomas, perhaps the media could move on now …………

  4. Stephen Park on June 23, 2009 5:37 am

one rule for the rich right
surprised there wasnt one undercover cid posing as paparazzi waiting to pounce when she did this

would have been entertaining seeing her entourage trying to stop her going to jail

oh yeh the media coverage would have finished dubai off

so cut out and keep this article in case u get arressted for indecency

  5. Susan Macaulay on June 23, 2009 5:52 am

    Yawn. Who cares.

  6. Ganda ko on June 23, 2009 6:22 am

What ever negative press release against Paris…I dont care!!!!! cause I really like her……Go Paris! I will not stop loving you! I wish, I will meet you personally….

  7. Barry on June 23, 2009 6:31 am

I agree with Thomas hereabove. Even today women have been wearing swimwear or bikini either on the beach or pool side so what has she done different.

Just leave her alone and move on with more important matters in the UAE.

  8. DeniseDubai on June 23, 2009 6:49 am

She’s a self obsessed, brain drain of a human specimen.
In fact she’s a down right stupid moron.
Who in God’s name does she actually think she is apart from some dumb stupid mans eye candy…she’s nothing…go and get a real job…then you get respect.

  9. Peter Peter on June 23, 2009 7:36 am

Can you not see ? The British Tabloid press will go to town on this , Paris will NOT be arrested , and Dubai will send out the message ( which it can not do officially ) that in spite of the spate of negative publicity it is still an OK place as a playground of the rich and famous and the not so rich and not so famous.

Paris coming to Dubai to film her TV show is an obviously stage managed event aimed at keeping Dubai in the news.

  10. Hippo Crit on June 23, 2009 7:43 am

There is a nice difference between the male and female responses above :)
While females consider her self obsessed, getting away with it coz she is rich, males are considering it casual as they have seen other girls in bikinis on the beach in dubai…

The reporter for this piece of news really needs to get his/her facts right first. There are thousands of tourists who come every now and then to Dubai and sun bathe in bikinis!!! So don’t make a big deal about Paris wearing a bikini and prancing about. If she isn’t permitted to do this then please ban bikinis for each and every tourist and resident.

I’m NOT a fan of Paris. I find it very idiotic that the media is covering her every move in Dubai. Ugh.

  12. SAM on June 23, 2009 7:56 am

I’m soooo fed up of hearing about Paris Hilton! For respect to people that have actually achieved something with more substance in their lives, please move on and cover other things!

  13. Lyes on June 23, 2009 8:03 am

If she gets arrested, that would be just a publicity stunt. She will make millions of $$$$ out of it. People will rush to buy her story.

  14. imad on June 23, 2009 8:47 am

the whole article heading is wrong, there is no defiance of any ban .dubai is a cultutal freedom heaven in the middle east and the only thing its authority asked the expatriates and visitors in dubai is to AT LEAST respect the local traditions and try not to consider jumaira beach as santorini or cyprus beaches, thats it….i think the purpose of the article is simply a media attraction of a certain show hosted by paris hilton, nothing more

  15. Ghaith on June 23, 2009 8:55 am

DeniseDubai, are you jealous from Paris??

for the rest of the people who commented, just leave the girl alone whether you like her or not, you dont have to read her stories if you dont want to and i think the media is covering her stories knowing the fact that she is a celebrity enjoying alot of fans around the world and at the same time they are publishing so much more news about the UAE and the other World so you can turn into those.
Its YOU people, move ON with it

  16. Jim on June 23, 2009 8:56 am

Who’s the Public Relations agency for Paris? Congratulations, there are doing an excellent job to promote a @#$%& like her!

  17. Rebecca on June 23, 2009 8:56 am

I agree the headline is wrong. Its a cheap way to get the eyeballs. Anyone living in Dubai knows there is no ban on wearing bikini’s on the beach. Gosh I wish they would do more responsible reporting.

  18. Justin on June 23, 2009 9:52 am

Give her a break, she is in the entertainment business, what do you all want. The editor who allowed the headline as Paris Hilton defies Dubai bikini ban should be held responsible for destroying Dubai.

  19. Peter M on June 23, 2009 9:55 am

This is irresponsible reporting and a misleading headline. wearing bikinis IS NOT BANNED IN DUBAI. The article doesn’t even clarify that in the main text. Watch it Kipp, you could be accused of Dubai Bashing under the new law if you deliberately mislead the public into thinking there is such a ban.

  20. Ghada on June 23, 2009 9:58 am

I support Ghaith comment. it’s the best

  21. M Jacob on June 23, 2009 10:35 am

There are 20 or so reader comments to this story so far and, none to the other more pressing articles in this newsletter. So you see, either sensationalism sells or people have nothing better to do.

  22. RA on June 23, 2009 10:37 am

What is even worse then Paris is the media with the amount of publicity they give her. She does not add any value whether culturally, intellectually, economically, socially.. On the contrary I believe she is a bad model and I would be worried if kids or anyone look up to her in any shape or form.. By reporting her (or on her) they are just adding to the mediocre mentality that supports such a nonsense phenomena..

  23. Ganda ko on June 23, 2009 12:09 pm

I’am very much agreed on Mr. Ghaith’s comments.

  24. PSSST on June 23, 2009 12:59 pm

please we don’t want to know her news for god sake she is a boring person, hey Paris get a life

  25. Ghada on June 23, 2009 2:29 pm

if you’re commenting here it means you’re reading about her and putting effort to comment. no need for all that if you don’t like her. why don’t you things you like to do. and who says that what you like to do is not boring for others. let’s be positive, do what we like to do and leave others in peace. no need for all this negativity and this stress. enjoy your time the way you like.

Bikini ban must be enforced in Dubai beaches to its fullest extent with the power of Law. Not only bikini dresses, but all other revealing dresses must be stopped. If these girls fail to apply practical common sense, then it must be taught them with big stick as they do in Iran.

What these women will do if they are in Saudi Arabia? Saudi Arabian laws concerning women’s dress codes may look very much primitive, but there are many valuble lessons to learn from it in order to bring women to their practical common sense regarding dress codes.

They can use bikini dresses at homes or hotels but not in beaches where thousands of people from different nationalities gather on week ends. These dresses worn by these women (irrespective of their age)including Paris Hilton really distract peaceful week ends and really demoralize many poor people.

No one is perfect, but these dresses of women are really a silent killer of all religious ethics. I have seen many western women walking in Dubai streets wearing a Cross and scantly dressed!! They think it is a mark of their superior education they received, a sense women’s freedom and money power. Being a Christian I feel so shameful to see these sights in Dubai streets.

  27. Susan Macaulay on June 24, 2009 4:11 am

    Still yawning.

  28. haytch on June 24, 2009 8:11 am

George, you can go live in Saudi if you like… If such law is applied in Dubai you will see lot’s of people leaving this country we all know and agree on that no?

PARIS HILTON IS WANTED FOR VARIOUS CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY. FOR STARTERS, SHE KIDNAPPED ME IN A UFO SHE STOLE VIA USING HER YAKUZA PR MAFIA HITMEN AND FORCED ME TO DRINK 55 GALLONS OF ARTIFICIAL MAPLE FLAVORED PANCAKE SYRUP. SHE THEN MADE ME DO THE MACARENA FOR 21 HOURS STRAIGHT WHILE STANDING WAIST DEEP IN A VAT OF COLE SLAW. SHE FINALLY CAUSED ME TO WEAR A SOILED DEPENDS BRAND ADULT UNDERGARMENT UNTIL I NOW HAVE A HORRID CASE OF DIAPER RASH. TO PROTEST THIS I HAVE POSTED A VIDEO ON YOUTUBE OF ME BELLOWING LIKE A DRUNKEN WINO WITHOUT A BOTTLE OF MAD DOG 20/20. YOU CAN SEE MY SMALL BUT NOTABLE “DUDE UDDERS” IN SAID VIDEO, THEY ARE MY PRIDE AND JOY. SINCERELY, BRANDON M. WITTE
