RTA allocates AED7.5 billion for 120 projects in 2010

The RTA said that 46 percent of the budget will be allocated to the Rail Agency.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that of its AED10.7 billion approved budget for 2010, AED2.8 billion will be used as operational budget, while AED7.9 billion will serve as capital and project budget. The body expects to earn AED3.27 billion during the year, said Mattar al-Tayer, chairman and executive director of the RTA.

“The approved projects budget is estimated as AED7.5 billion allocated for undertaking about 120 projects; 13 of which are new projects,” he said, adding that 46 percent of the budget will be allocated to Rail Agency, 29 percent to Roads and Traffic and Roads Agency, 13 percent to Public Transport Agency and the remaining 12 percent to licensing and marine agencies as well as Corporate Support Services.
