The Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) latest auction of vehicle license plates managed to raise more than AED15 million, reports Gulf News. “The total attendance exceeded 400 and the hall was full of potential bidders,” Ahmad Hashim Bahrouzyan, CEO of RTA Licensing Agency told the paper.

“The total proceeds of the auction reached AED15.359 million led by the number plate [I 44] which was sold for AED2.3 million, followed by (E 17) sold for AED2.1 million, and (G 1111) which fetched AED1.1 million, ” he said.

this is really funny .. people are dying everywhere and going into financial problems, cyclones and here are people bidding for something silly as much as they are… plate numbers???!!!! it is a hard equation indeed … but at the same time it is a normal result beacuse when you have a lot of money that you didn’t work for (as you made others do it for you – slaves) … sure you will spend it on such games (free money)
