The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai introduced Nol Silver Cards to the market on Wednesday in anticipation of the Dubai Metro launch on September 9, 2009.
The cards can be used to access the metro, public buses and water buses throughout Dubai.
Abdullah Al Madani, the CEO of RTA Corporate Technical Support Services Sector, said: “Nol Card, which is offered by the RTA for sale starting from today, will be available for mass transport users in 22 sales outlets and centers spanning five public bus stations, eight marine transport stations, and nine RTA Customer Service Centers. Nol Card is the best fare payment means ever introduced in Dubai as a single card can be used in all public transport modes as well as RTA paid parking zones.”
The card costs AED6 and has an initial balance of AED14.
