Al Qamzi also teamed up with the Dubai Statistics Centre in January this year to sign a co-operation agreement to collect, analyze and publish statistical and economic data for the emirate. According to the bodies, the agreement will improve access to the information, and provide a mechanism to measure the emirate’s performance.
The Dubai Statistics Centre will provide DED data and statistical information for the Department’s economic studies, research publications and bulletins. It will also help the DED to design and implement statistical surveys. The DED will also share its resources with the Centre.
According to Al Muhairi, the main aim of the Dubai Statistics Center is to provide statistical information in relation to the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015. He says the Centre has tied up with the relevant government bodies for this purpose.
