Saudi sees fall in price of construction materials

Prices of steel used for construction in Saudi Arabia fell 55 percent at the end of June 2009 as compared to a year earlier, according to data published on the Central Department of Statistics and Information’s website, reports Reuters. They fell from SR5,021($1,339)per tonne in June 2008 to SR2,256.9 ($601.6) at the end of June this year.
Meanwhile, cement prices decreased 7 percent from their level a year earlier.
