Starcom MediaVest Group MENA took home a Lion award at the Cannes Lions 2009 Awards Ceremony for its Mars campaign entitled ‘Galaxy, Fall in Love Again’, a company statement said.
SMG is allegedly the “only local agency” to take home a Cannes Lion award.
The campaign encouraged women to submit their poetry and recite them on air during MBC1’s Morning Show. Over 4,300 Arab women participated in the campaign.
“This continues a run of excellence that began with our “Media Agency of the Year” honor at the Dubai Lynx awards,” said Laura Desmond, CEO of SMG Global. “It is welcome recognition of SMG MENA’s commitment to creative, innovative work and I am confident the team will continue to meet the enviably high standards they have created for themselves.”
