The actual money behind the Manchester City takeover by the Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG) came from Sheikh Mansour, a member of the royal family of Abu Dhabi, a brother of the president, and crown prince of the emirate. He is reportedly married to Sheikha Manal bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the daughter of Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed.
Sheikh Mansour is the Minister of Presidential Affairs, a member in the UAE’s cabinet, and is chairman of Al Jazeera Football Club and the Emirates Horse Racing Authority. He is also the chairman of the International Petroleum Investment Company.
According to reports, the purchase price of the Premier League club is more than $350m.
